Mark Bruhn advises university leadership on planning and policy related to emergency management and response, administrative and academic continuity, policing and community safety, homeland security, emergency communications, enterprise risk management, and environmental health and safety. In addition, he oversees security of computer and telecommunications systems; incident response; and collection, handling, and security of institutional and personal information.
Bruhn has been with IU for more than 25 years. He is co-founder of the IU-based Research and Educational Networking Information Sharing and Analysis Center (REN-ISAC), where he previously served as executive director. Bruhn is also an adjunct faculty member in the IU School of Informatics and Computing, and contributes to student education in cybersecurity and other assurance topics. Prior to IU, he was a member of the United States Air Force for more than eight years.
