A leader on cybersecurity from Australia talks to the IU community.
Michelle Price joined the National Security College in June 2016 as the Senior Adviser for Cyber Security on secondment from the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet. With the Head of College and Research Leader, Cyberspace Program, she is responsible for delivering the NSC’s cyber program, focussing on liaison with national and international cyber security partners and the engagement of ANU with initiatives under Australia’s Cyber Security Strategy.
Across the public and private sectors, Michelle has 20 years’ experience in strategy development, risk management and strategic communication. Her recent achievements include delivery of the Australian Government’s 2015 Cyber Security Review and recently released Cyber Security Strategy, including Australia’s first public-private cyber security horizon scan and strategic risk assessment.
Michelle was also responsible for delivery of the government’s National Security Strategic Risk Framework (the first of its kind in the world) and Coordinated National Security Budget. Michelle holds degrees in Economics (Macquarie University) and Visual Communication (University of Technology, Sydney) and is an alumna of the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.
