RCI Day: Research Technologies Student Poster Expo

Students earn prizes for sharing the work they've done on IU advanced computing resources. During RCI Day, review posters submitted by IU students from a variety of disciplines who are using IU advanced cyberinfrastructure in their work.

The 2nd Research Technologies Student Poster Expo gives students an opportunity to show their work to fellow students, faculty, and staff during the IU Research Cyberinfrastructure Day 2022 in Herman B Wells Library at IU-Bloomington.

RCI Day includes the following free events, open to the University community:

  • 11am-Noon and 1:30-3pm Research Services Expo
  • 11am-3pm Research Technologies Student Poster Expo
  • Noon-1:30pm Peebles Memorial Lecture and lunch with David Crandall

Who’s eligible? Indiana University students from any discipline and any IU campus who use advanced cyberinfrastructure in their research or a school project. Examples of advanced cyberinfrastructure include IU's supercomputers, Research Desktop, massive storage or data transfer, advanced visualization, advanced media capture, IU REDCap, the Research Database Complex, IUanyWare, Jetstream, and more. $100 prizes for:

  • Best overall poster
  • Best use of high performance computing
  • Best visualization

Abstracts are due: September 6, 2022 by midnight

Submission/Expo process:

  • Login or create an account/login to EasyChair.
  • Upload your 250-300 word abstract (as a .pdf) following the instructions on-screen.
  • Accepted abstracts will be notified by September 9, 2022.
  • Final posters (no larger than 3.5’ wide by 4’ tall) will be exhibited September 28, 2022 during the IU Research Cyberinfrastructure Day at Herman B Wells Library at IU-Bloomington.
  • Authors are expected to attend and answer questions regarding their poster/research.
  • Posters will be judged during RCI Day.
  • Winners announced and prizes given at end of RCI Day.

Posters may have been presented at a conference within the last six months and/or may be presented at an upcoming conference.

Accepted abstracts and final posters will be published in an IUScholarWorks journal.

Judges will include past Peebles Memorial Lecture Series speakers as well as other distinguished IU faculty and staff.

The expo is sponsored by Research Technologies, a division of University Information Technology Services and a center in the Pervasive Technology Institute at Indiana University.
