This is a half-day workshop presents an introduction to using threads and message passing in traditional languages. Multiple processors will be utilized to accomplish a single task on IU's supercomputers. A basic knowledge of UNIX/LINUX is required.


Objectives:

By the end of this workshop, users will:

  • Understand the basics of parallel programming on a supercomputer.
  • Write threads and message passing into a simple program to speed its time to a solution.
