About this event

This workshop introduces Jetstream, the first of its kind production cloud resource intended to support research and education.

As part of the NSF’s eXtreme Science and Engineering Discovery Environment (XSEDE), our goal is to aid researchers across the United States that need modest amounts of interactive computing power to do research, teach classes, conduct workshops, etc. Part of the goal in implementing Jetstream is to reach non-traditional researchers that may have High-performance computing (HPC) needs but have not had adequate access or have faced other barriers to HPC usage.

By the end of this workshop, users will:

  • Become familiar with Jetstream
  • Learn to use the Jetstream web interface
  • Be able to launch virtual machines on Jetstream

The Supercomputing for Everyone Series (S4ES) aims to bring more users into the realm of advanced computing, whether it be visualization, computation, analytics, storage, or any related discipline. Let Research Technologies staff take you to the next level of computing.

Supercomputing for Everyone Series workshops and seminars are led by personnel from Research Technologies, a division of University Information Technology Services and a center in the Pervasive Technology Institute at Indiana University. Jetstream is a project supported by the National Science Foundation.
