The Impact of Virtual Reality Series:
This weekly series presents a variety of topics for discussion related to virtual reality as it exists today and its utility as a tool in education and other contexts. Discussions will cover the overarching concepts of virtual reality with the primary focus on using virtual reality to move toward a goal.
Topics include the medium of VR as well as interface issues as they relate to particular hardware styles, along with areas where VR is being applied as a tool for learning, training, science, and evaluation.
Some of the technologies used in creating new VR experiences in these and other disciplines will also be explored.
The workshop is hosted by Bill Sherman, senior technical advisor, Advanced Visualization Lab, Research Technologies a division of University Information Technology Services.
The Supercomputing for Everyone Series (S4ES) of training workshops aims to bring more users into the realm of and train users in the use of advanced computing, whether it be visualization, computation, analytics, storage, or any related discipline.
