 Still time to register for LAN War 39

Test your gaming skills at LAN War 39, a bring-your-own PC gaming event on April 15, 10am-10pm, at Hodge Hall on the Bloomington campus. For $20, you’ll get food and drinks, an event T-shirt, and prizes. And you may even win the tournament!

Presented by UITS and Gaming@IU, the event has occurred in the fall and spring semesters since 1999.

Learn coding basics and video editing

Build your tech skills. On April 8, learn the basics of video editing with Adobe Premier Pro and earn an Adobe badge. On April 15, learn the basics of coding with Python.

Hosted by the Center of Excellence for Women & Tech, training will be at the Student Building on the Bloomington campus. Lunch will be provided.

IU Bloomington CrimsonCard offices moving

A new CrimsonCard office will open on or after April 10 in the Wells Library Learning Commons (room W138) on the IU Bloomington campus. Once this location opens, existing offices located at the IMU (M090) and Wells Library fourth floor (417) will be closed.

Statistical and mathematical software changes coming

Beginning July 2023, IU will no longer offer Maple or Amos (an IBM SPSS add-on) software. If you use these packages, you will need to purchase your own copy from the vendors. Contact radl@iu.edu for more information or help with the transition.

Building Canvas courses faster and easier with new tool

Setting up courses in Canvas is more efficient with a new tool, Course Setup Wizard. Now you can import content from another course, apply a template, or add the customizable IU Home Page.

While not a requirement for instructors, the optional tool helps streamline course design. Faculty input on the new tool is welcome.

Countdown to Statewide IT Conference 2023

The 27th annual Statewide IT Conference will commence in-person and online April 11-13. With the theme, “Advancing the IU Universe,” IU IT colleagues will gather from around the state in Bloomington to discuss the latest tech.

Build your schedule and prepare for cool swag and prizes. An opening reception will be held April 11, 5-6:30pm at the historic McCalla School.
