BLOOMINGTON, Ind.—Patrick Phillips has been named associate vice president for Client Technology Support (CTS) at Indiana University (IU). He assumed this new role on January 1, 2023, and reports to IU Vice President for Information Technology and CIO Rob Lowden.
Managing and supporting the computers and devices used by thousands of IU faculty and staff is a strategic priority for the university as it continually seeks to harden its cyberthreat surface area. In his new role, Phillips and his teams will support and manage more than 100,000 computers and devices at IU. Phillips is charged with aligning IT support operations and working together with IU IT professionals to ensure the highest level of IT support across the institution.
Phillips brings 15 years of experience to this position after most recently serving as director of On-site Support in the Client Service and Support division. With the recent alignments of on-site IT support staff from around the university into UITS, Phillips’ responsibility area has grown significantly.

Phillips is an IU alum who earned his bachelor’s from the Luddy School of Informatics, Computing and Engineering and his Master of Public Affairs from the O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs.
