IU Bicentennial bus gets a tech assist

3-D models of IU landmarks are now part of a traveling exhibit thanks to UITS Advanced Visualization Lab

When the IU Bicentennial team started putting together the Big Red Bus—a traveling, interactive exhibit exploring IU’s impact on the state—they knew they wanted it to be hands-on and fun for visitors.

The UITS Advanced Visualization Lab produced 3-D printed replicas, an interactive touchscreen, and virtual reality, all featuring iconic IU artifacts, spaces, and places for the bus exhibit. One notable project was Showalter Fountain, the centerpiece of the Fine Arts Plaza in Bloomington. It’s the source of multiple campus legends and traditions, including one in which new grads take a quick dip under the goddess Venus’s gaze.

IUB and IUPUI: The passphrase reset process is now more convenient

Now you can change your password in a Student Technology Center or via a consultant

Do you ever find yourself on campus needing to reset your passphrase? Trekking to a UITS Support Center can seem like a big hassle.

Not anymore—the UITS Support Center has expanded options for in-person passphrase resets. Now, you can reset your personal IU account passphrase in person at your campus Support Center, or in a staffed Student Technology Center (STC) or Residential Technology Center (RTC).

Here’s how:

  • Support Center: Take a photo ID to your campus Support Center. You will need to know your University ID number. Once a consultant has confirmed your identity, allow 20 minutes for your passphrase change to be processed.
  • Staffed STC or RTC: Take your photo ID to the TCC consultant on duty. The consultant will confirm your identity and provide a code with instructions for resetting your personal IU account passphrase on your own.
