Build your tech skills with IU's new online IT Training certificates and courses

No cost for IU faculty, staff and students with public access starting at less than $10/course

BLOOMINGTON, Ind.—Are you looking for an affordable way to boost your tech skills, on your own time and at your own pace? Indiana University’s new online IT Training curriculum fits the bill.

Instead of offering long workshops that can be hard to fit into busy schedules, IU’s IT division, University Information Technology Services, features an on-demand training model. You'll have more control over when and how you learn, but still benefit from the same high-quality content and engaging experience.

Individual courses as well as the Certificate Series are presented by UITS IT Training, IU’s award-winning tech training team. IT Training has launched five online course series covering essential Microsoft Office skills like Excel and Access, plus foundational web creation, coding, and media design skills.

IU faculty, staff and students receive no-cost access, while non-IU learners only pay $9.99 per course via IU Expand. For even more savings, IT Training encourages learners to enroll in the full Certificate Series as a one-time purchase for a reduced rate and access to the series’ final exam.

All IT Training Certificate Series courses include:

  • Step-by-step instruction
  • Exercise files to allow you to practice what you learn
  • Instructional videos for reinforcement
  • Quizzes to check comprehension

Certificates are awarded after the successful completion of a final online exam.

“We take pride in the content and services that we provide to the IU community, and to be able to offer them to everyone is pretty fantastic,” said Thomas Mason, principal IT Training consultant for UITS IT Training. “We’re excited about this new chapter in IT Training, and hope to make our course offerings more robust as time goes by.”
