Winter break support hours, Dell's holiday deals, IT Training spring schedule, end-of-semester resources, and more

UITS winter break support hours

Even during winter break, the folks working in UITS support still have your back. They’ll be on hand for most of the three-week break, poised and ready to answer your technology questions.

The UITS Support Center’s phone, email, and chat options will be up and running every day except for Christmas Day (December 25) and New Year’s Day (January 1). During closings, phone calls will route to the UITS Contact Center for an answering service.

The UITS Contact Center will remain open 24/7 for the break.

The semester is ending—get your software and printing needs in order

Graduating? Congratulations! Will you need to use Adobe software after graduation? If so, be sure to buy it now. When you leave IU, your Adobe license is no longer valid, but you can purchase it before you go at a significant discount. The Adobe Education Store offers many Adobe products to students for less than general education pricing.

Sticking around? IU Bloomington and IUPUI students: Check your printing allotment. If you need print credit for lost or damaged output, request it before the end of the semester to avoid erroneous bursar billing.

New year, new look for Canvas

On December 28, IU’s learning management system Canvas will update to a new user interface, with a cleaner, more modern design and improved navigation. The new look will also maximize screen space, which is especially helpful on mobile devices. Note: the new user interface will not result in any functional changes to Canvas tools.

Student Technology Center resources help wrap up the semester

Your final paper is due, your exams are drawing near, you haven't even started your final group project yet -- and your laptop just croaked (of course). What to do?

Student Technology Centers (STCs) to the rescue! You need it, they've got it, from Macs and PCs to print stations and infostations. Depending on which campus you're on, some of them even have color plotters and large-screen collaborative tables with shared laptop capability.
